Welcome to the October Edition of the

County of Alameda Training & Education Center Newsletter

Different Perspectives. Shared Purpose.

October is an invitation to pause, look around, and appreciate the many perspectives that make our organization stronger.

This month, we’re celebrating diversity, spotlighting new learning opportunities, and encouraging you to take one meaningful step toward your own professional growth. Learn something new. See something differently. Lead with intention.

🌎 Global Diversity Awareness Month

Our differences make our workplaces richer. Our cultures, heritages, experiences, abilities, perspectives, and identities shape how we see the world, and how we contribute to our teams and the communities we serve.

When we make space for different perspectives, we create room for better ideas, deeper understanding, stronger relationships, and more innovative solutions.

Throughout October, take time to reflect on the people, experiences, resources, and learning opportunities that help us create a more inclusive workplace.

A Simple October Practice

LISTEN Seek out a perspective different from your own.

LEARN Explore a resource, training, or story that expands your understanding.

CONNECT Have a meaningful conversation with someone you may not know well.

REFLECT Consider how your own experiences influence the way you work with others.

ACT Identify one small step you can take to make your workplace more welcoming and accessible.

Diversity is something we experience every day. October gives us a reason to pause, celebrate it, and learn from it.
